Daniel spent the weekend at the lake and I went over on Friday evening to sit on the dock and enjoy the evening. By 9:30 pm I had caught 15 fish with redworms and Daniel had caught more than that on rooster tails while fishing from the boat around Bird Island.

While at Paul's soccer game on Saturday morning, we invited the kids to come fishing on Saturday evening. Since Paul had a team pool party with his soccer team, I went on to the lake and Kay brought Paul and Lucy over around 3:00pm. They went swimming and found that the end of the dock is not that deep with the water down the way it is.

The fish did not do much until sunset and later. I brought bricks over to make a fire pit for burning lake trash. I had never thought about the amount of trash that washed up and I guess we are on the downwind side of the slew. The kids had cleaned out the shoreline a week ago and I had an old wooden ladder and dock boards and a huge tree limb to burn. We had a nice fire going but did not come close to burning all that needed to be burned. You might want to double click this picture to smell the fire. "wink"
But once the fish started to bite I spend a good bit of time baiting hooks and unhooking fish from the lines. I lost count but Paul probably had 10 fish and Lucy caught her first catfish. I had to ask the question and Paul says that he still enjoys his soccer more than fishing. Oh well.

But I know that he is hooked and will be back.
FINAL NOTE: It was great to see Buddy and Wanda Wright. I had known them from Briarwood and had been told that they were in the neighborhood on Powell's Circle as well as living in Trussville within Tutwiler Farms.
